Giordano
My reaction is.....WOW. In that setting no one raised an objection? No one defended the meetings?
Well the old guy and his wife did try to object, (Probably in their 70s) but the young teenage kids shut them up pretty quickly.
last night we were invited to a get-together with quite a few heavies attendingelders and regular pioneers.
there was beer and later some music.
everyone got relaxed and let down their guard and starting talking all kinds of non-theocratic stuff that you only discuss after a few beers.

Movies like Jurassic park, iron man, predator vs alien, all those movies with violence------ but it’s okay.
When I saw everyone in a merry mood, I asked the question;
“Hey, what would you guys think if the Society decided to go all tech and get rid of all the Kingdom Halls and everyone just listened to all the meetings and conventions on video, internet or TV?”
It got real quite!!!!-------
I thought I was in trouble---------------
then---------
Everyone started----------------------------“Hell ya”
They started voicing their thoughts on how great it would be not to have to go to all the meetings, no traveling far for conventions.
Then they went beyond what I had asked.
And it brought a smile to my face.
They continued with the idea that perhaps in the future, field service would involve internet, and email witnessing and no more door to door. You should of seen the evil grins.
But why stop there. One elder blurts out; “No judicial committees, no disfellowshipping”
Then one sister blurts out, “Every type of conduct would be between Jehovah and the individual.
One brother blurts out; “No more elders, no more elders meetings, no CO hectic week”
One young kid jumps in and says; “No Bethel service and No regular pioneering”
One old sister and her old husband jumps in with a serious frown on his face and asks the question; “Yea but how would we baptized new ones?”
A bunch of teenagers shout; “ Home baptism.”
And it just went on and on…………They kept up the conversation for about an hour.
And to my surprise they worked out the details better than we would have here on this site.
Would it work?
Well I did some research and found out that there are several fundamental religious evangelists who have been very successful at making money via social network, internet, and TV. Even non-Christian extremist are successful in recruiting for their cause.
So think about the idea of a paradise earth with no death, getting young again, a resurrection, no war, sickness, animals at peace, and all you have to do is watch videos and read a few magazines and Donate. That’s it!
Is it possible the Watchtower is headed that way? With all the Bethel layoffs, less printing, magazines even being cancelled in some countries, very few Kingdom Halls being constructed.
And they wouldn’t have to worry anymore about any more child sexual abuse lawsuits.
I think we got a winner!
i remember at my teen years when i was studying with a brother that he said to me that there was no rain before the flood.
instead there was this mist that you have.
never before or after this have i heard something like this.
that's what i suspect.. perhaps some of us retrained our brains to not surrender to a natural urge to believe the simplest, most drama-laden spins on facts.. examples (at least i think this is the truth!):.
the clock.
the son of muslim activists makes a device that, on purpose, looks like a bomb.
But different people have slightly different wiring or maybe none at all
VI. You just said something else that I didn't want to admit. It makes perfect sense.
for those that lurk or havnt decided to post yet.... living a lie is difficult.
nobody would likely disagree with that... many of us lived or are living the wt lie for the sake of friends or family.
it can eat at us and put us in situations where we frame half truths, try to find tactful way to avoid telling people what we really think.. there is great freedom in being able to admit truths.
Living a lie is difficult.
M. those words are going to be my yearly text. I'm going to hang them on the wall. When I get jw company, it will be a good starting point for conversation!

i would like to see one or better two members of the governing body get disfellowshipped and they both go off to write books like ray franz exposing the cult to all the sexual scandals, the hidden agendas with the stock market investments, the lawsuits, the laying of long time bethel workers, hidden sins by the higher ups and all the other nasty skeletons in the watchtower closet..
what would be different today compared to rays time is that we now live in a social media world..
they would be invited to talk in the oprah winfrey show, ellen degeneres show, the view, dateline.
Any GB member who defects can live in my basement, rent free. That is a promise.
GB members, just PM me! Seriously! You can e-mail me here, I know you monitor this site.
the thread about magazines stopping distribution in india reminded me of a recent conversation.
a local brother said he asked for a copy of the new organisation book for publishers.
the elder told the brother to print it out if he wanted a physical copy.

An old Circuit Overseer in the 70s in his public talk said there were no oceans or seas before the flood. It was only after the deluge of heavy rainfall that oceans and seas formed
guys .
a letter was just read in out kh stating that all printing of wt and awake is ceased for the coming year and we will just place tracts on fs, countries which were cared by our branch will be cared by other countries...along with this they read the new fs form and stuff about reporting links of videos wtf..lol.
i can't tell which country perhaps that will give away a lot, any one with a similar information.
If so, then why would he let them run out of money in an area like India - an area that has so many people and that hasn't had much of a warning???
The reply would be;
India is full of goats!
